WSV3 Professional V7.11

First-gen WSV3 Professional 2015 remains in sustaining-operations mode while next-gen WSV3 Tactical Mesoanalyst development continues separately (https://WSV3.com/Tactical https://wsv3-next-gen-2025.com). This first-gen update is focused entirely NEXRADPro Level 2 engine stability, reliability, and compatibility fixes prompted by several upstream changes.

1. Fixed live Level 2 freezing/stale-data issue
-Some single-site Level 2 sessions could stop advancing during live volume progression (falling back to stale data or appearing to stop updating while beam extrapolation and the UI kept running)
-Root cause found and addressed; confirmed continuous live decode/product advancement on overnight stability tests after fix

2. Fixed Level 2 volume rollover / disappearing tilts
-A new in-progress live volume could become the only draw source before the previous volume was finalized, collapsing the tilt list to only the tilts present in the new partial volume.
-Restored the intended two-volume behavior (the current volume updates live while the previous completed volume stays available for tilt/product fallback) and confirmed correct higher-tilt availability through long-duration Level 2 sessions across multiple rollovers

3. Fixed Level 2 site-switching hangs
-Switching Level 2 sites in a long-running session could leave old-site downloader/loader threads still running, producing transient "Awaiting activation (L2)" hangs, etc.
-Overhauled site switching logic/multithreaded orchestration and confirmed functionality with stress test

4. Fixed support for Iowa State / IEM Level 2 archive source
-Fixed after upstream filename and compression changes broke the feed
-Archive filenames are now used verbatim and whole-file .bz2 payloads are supported, while existing NOMADS / Archive-II handling is preserved

5. Fixed NOAA Open Data / AWS S3 Level 2 source
-Upstream retired the old noaa-nexrad-level2 archive bucket around 9/1/25; completed-volume archive downloads now use the current unidata-nexrad-level2 bucket
-Rebuilt the private WSV3 AWS archive-index service that had begun failing, repointed to the current bucket with anonymous S3 listing and quiet-site handling

6. NEXRAD polling / maintenance resilience
-A single error in the periodic product-maintenance loop could permanently stop NEXRAD polling and radar-site status refresh while the map kept rendering; now hardened so polling keeps running

7. LiveScan beam prediction updated for modern VCPs
-Expanded Level 2 VCP metadata parsing so LiveScan is less dependent on the fixed 2015-era VCP tables and better matches current RDA/RPG behavior
-Added SAILS/MRLE awareness and drives beam prediction from observed volume sweep timing before falling back to static VCP timing

8. Added visual MRLE enabled/disabled indicator to UI alongside existing AVSET and SAILS indicators

9. Level 2 diagnostics
-Added always-on Level 2 diagnostic logging to so customer and beta issue reports can include recent engine state; log path is %APPDATA%\WSV3\Level2\L2Debug.log
